The Great American Cleanup is a nationwide initiative led by Keep America Beautiful, and each year, local affiliates bring it to life through hands-on projects that directly improve their communities.

This year, Keep Manatee Beautiful is proud to host a Great American Cleanup focused along Manatee Avenue and Perico Island, offering volunteers multiple ways to get involved—from water-based cleanups to beach, causeway, and roadside efforts. These organized cleanup experiences allow residents, visitors, and community partners to make an immediate and visible impact on our local environment.

Through events like this, volunteers help remove litter and debris, protect waterways and coastal habitats, and restore public spaces that are enjoyed year-round. The Great American Cleanup not only improves the look and health of our community, but also strengthens local stewardship by bringing people together around a shared commitment to keeping Manatee County beautiful.
